Shelby has done it once again! She has managed to touch more lives of strangers. This time it was students from Highland Academy located in Galloway Township, NJ. Students from the school were surfing the web one day and came across this website. They were so touched by Shelby\'s life and tragic passing that they decided to do a community service project in her honor. Jordau Butala, 8th grade, Samantha MacLean, 5th grade and Taylor Epps, 5th grade decided to do a coin drop around school. They had their classmates drop in spare change whenever they could. Their efforts raised over $400.00 for the Shelby Richter Fund. Jordau, Samantha and Taylor....you should be very proud of yourselves. It takes special people like you to do good deeds for others. SRF, Inc. would like to thank you for helping with our 2008 fundraising efforts. We truly appreciate you choosing Shelby\'s cause to be the focus of your kindness. We are very proud of you and we thank you. Continued success to each of you in the future.
Sincerely,
SRF, Inc. Board Members

A few weeks back, two very special young ladies from Holy Spirit High School decided to have a birthday party together. In lieu of presents, they decided that they would like the birthday present proceeds to go towards Shelby Richter Fund, Inc. Myra Mc Cann and Caroline Kelly are very unique in a special way. Neither of them had ever met Shelby before. This just goes to show that Shelby is still touching lives today. Even the lives of people she has never met.
Shelby Richter Fund, Inc. would sincerely like to thank Myra and Caroline for what is considered to be an extreme act of kindness. We thank you for your wonderful community service act. They have presented SRF, Inc. with a check in the amount of $415.00. The proceeds from this party will once again go towards sarcoma research and awareness. What a wonderful way to start out our fundraising campaign for 2009. Thank you for all that you have done and to those who continue to do in Shelby\'s honor.

With this in mind, SRF, Inc. has now raised over $120,000 for sarcoma research and awareness in just 3 short years. Thank you for your generosity. November, 2007

The Shelby Richter Fund, Inc. would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank Samantha Garvey from St. Joseph Girls Soccer team for what we believe to be an extremely generous act of community service. On Saturday night, November 3rd, Samantha hosted a \"Spook-a-Palooza\" at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Waterford Works, NJ for her classmates and friends. A $10 entrance fee was charged with all proceeds going directly to the Shelby Richter Fund, Inc. A special award of recognition was given to Samantha who ran and organized the entire event on Shelbys behalf. Samantha, we can not thank you enough for what you did for Shelby and Sarcoma research. We would also like to give a special thanks to J.P. Jones, coach of the girls soccer team (as well as the many other hats he wears at SJHS) who graciously offered the girls soccer team to help out any way that they could for this and future SRF, Inc. events. Thank you, J.P.
Samantha donated a check in the amount of $1,450.00 to SRF, Inc. and before Shelby’s Father & Brother left JP & his wife donated another $40, bringing our Grand Total to $1490. Your generous donation will be put towards the 2008 grant in Shelbys name for Sarcoma research.
One more special thank you goes out to the Hammonton area businesses that sponsored the event which in turn helped to donate more money towards the check. Thank you to The Sign Co. Inc. (www.TheSignCo.net),Lincoln), Mortgage Company; Christofer Wilhelm, Advanced Physical Therapy & Chiropractic; Dr Joe Clements, Title Company; Est. 1971, Joseph Poretta Builders, Inc., DJ Sparkles; Joe Nickels, Radetich Accounting Services.

The Shelby Richter Fund, Inc. would like to thank everyone who purchased raffles for the 2007 summer raffle. The fundraiser was extremely successful and we would like to thank everyone that came out to see us at the fair. The drawing was on September 29 at the Absecon Downtown Fair.
Pictures will be coming soon.
We are in the beginning stages of planning the 2008 SRF, Inc. Once a date is finalized, we will begin to advertise and make more details available. As most of you are aware, SRF, Inc. has had the good fortune to be able to donate $90,000. to the Sarcoma Foundation of America and we are hoping to meet another goal of $30,000. It is with your help, generosity and loyalty to SRF, Inc. that makes that possible. As always, the money raised at the benefit goes towards securing a grant in Shelby\'s name. It also goes towards the two $500. scholarships for our youth. The goal will always be the same...funding for sarcoma research and scholarships. We look forward to seeing you at the 4th Annual Shelby Richter Fund, Inc. benefit.

MAY 24, 2007

Hey Everyone
I wanted to let you all know that we went to The Sarcoma Foundation Gala, in NYC on Monday night, 5/21/07. We brought Board & Committee Members and had a magical time. Shannon, Justin & myself went to NYC on Sunday to attend an Educational Conference. I stood up and asked a question about \"Undifferentiated Sarcoma\" and you could have heard a pin drop. The doctors that were there were the leading doctors of Sarcoma Research and Medical Technologies. Justin was taking notes for a report that he is doing on Sarcoma. He had his picture taken with Dr. Mark Thornton, President of the SFA & Matt Alsante, Executive Director of the SFA. We spoke to a few of the doctors and then drove home.
The following day we went to the Gala. While we were there we enjoyed some wine that I would encourage you to look into http://www.willowcrestwinery.com/SunflowerSeries.html 50% of the proceeds go to the SFA. We sampled each of the two wines and I must say, they are very good wines!!! I was speaking to Tom Tobin (a friend of the wine maker). Tom\'s wife passed away from Sarcoma and this is his childhood friend making an awesome commitment to the SFA.
Later that night, we were all entertained with live music from Anthony Federov, 4th Season American Idol Finalist. Anthony\'s brother Dennis recently passed away from Sarcoma. He has taken on the task of becoming the national spokesman for the SFA.

Anthony is getting ready to release a new CD. While we were dancing, he pulled one of our ladies up on stage to dance with him, and at the end of the song she took off her Shelby Bracelet and slipped it on his wrist. Moments later, I was speaking to Anthony Federov\'s parents, what a beautiful family he has. His parents are very nice people.
I also spoke with Gary Tomei, Esq. who is the Vice President of the SFA, again a very informative and nice man.
With all the fun, as well as presenting them with a check for $30,000, we will be having them come to our town to accept this gracious donation on behalf of \"Absecon\'s Angel\" (Date to Follow)
Thank you everyone that went to NYC and all of you that made this possible for the 3rd consecutive year!!

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended the benefit as well as the fundraising campaign, the **NEW** Total of $23,442.39 was raised for the 2007 Shelby Richter Fund to date. Donations are coming in daily and as we receive them, this figure will continue to rise. This money helped to secure the 2008 Sarcoma Research Grant in Shelbys name along with two (2) $500.00 scholarships for our youth. Over the past 2 years, $60,000.00 has been presented to the Sarcoma Foundation. We will be presenting another check in the amount of $30,000.00 to the Sarcoma Foundation of America bringing the total raised for research grants in Shelbys name to $90,000.00.
Once again, we thank you for generosity and hope that we can count on you in the future.
